This is the
industry's first mainstream media architecture for the creation and
playback of rich multimedia content for both CDMA 2000 and GSM wireless
networks. This version expands its support for mobile multimedia
standards to include both the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)
and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2). QuickTime 6.5
enables users to share high-quality video, audio, and text across the
two predominant wireless networking technologies worldwide. Version
6.5.2 is an important release which includes a security update and bug
fixes. In addition this release includes enhancements in the Apple
Lossless Encoder and AAC codecs, as well as improved support for iTunes
and other QuickTime-based applications
